Pasture Trail
*PASTEL*      $800.00

Image Size: 12" x 16"
Outside Framed Dimension: 19" x 23"
This painting was done from a photograph taken near the border of Georgia and Tennessee -- McCaysville, GA. I painted several plein air (outdoors from life) paintings while here that day. There were bee hives located behind one of the dogwoods and if you scroll own down the page you will see! Little two-track roads out in the country make me want to wander on down the road to see what is around the next bend. Don't you want to go?

Balancing Act
*PASTEL*               $725.00        SOLD

Image Size: 16" x 12"
Outside Framed Dimension: 26" x 22"
This waterfall is located between Ellijay and Blue Ridge, Georgia, in the Cohutta Wilderness area. These rocks looked so precariously balanced! The sound from waterfalls are loud, and I could imagine how much louder it might be if there had been any significant rainfall. The air was cool, and the water beckoned you to take your shoes off and wade in!

Trees and Bees
*PASTEL*               $1,200.00

Image Size: 16" x 20"
Outside Framed Dimension: 22.5" x 26.5"

This painting is so similar to the painting "Pasture Trail" -- the difference being a little change in the light and also you can see the two bee hives behind one of the dogwood trees. I have thoroughly enjoyed painting this scene -- up close, distant, different seasons -- the photographs have yielded much material for me to paint -- along with the plein air piece "Beehive August". Hope you enjoy!

Spring Creek Blues
 *PASTEL *              $1,400.00

Image Size: 24" x 18"

Outside Framed Dimension: 30" x 24"

This painting was done from a photo taken just outside of Blue Ridge, GA and started as a demonstration in High Country Art Gallery in Blue Ridge. There is a beautiful valley we drive thru to visit Mercier Apple House and this little creek catches my eye every time when we drive over it. There seems to always be that wonderful reflection from the sky in the water. It makes me want to take my shoes off and wade in the cool water – wouldn’t you want to do so too?

  Morning Farm
*PASTEL *
$575.00

Image Size: 11" x 14"
Outside Framed Dimension: 16" x 19"

This painting was started as a demonstration for a workshop I help in Florida. The photo was taken at a farm outside Blue Ridge, GA. I have painted on location at this farm and from photos taken there many times. There is a painting possible from any vantage point and in any direction at this wonderful farm. I can smell the mountain air every time I look at one of these photos or paintings. I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed painting it!

Arched Escape
*PASTEL*
$1,200.00   SOLD

Image Size: 20" x 16"

Outside Framed Dimension: 30" x 26"

This painting was done from a photograph taken on a privately owned island on the coast of Georgia - Creighton Island. Eleven artists (including myself) painted for a week on this island last November. I came home with about 15 paintings done plein air (on location). This scene is from one of the photographs and the colors are taken from some of the plein air studies that I did that week. Don't you want to walk out on the little rickety walkway out into the marsh? Be careful -- we were!

  Morning Moss
*PASTEL*
$1,600.00

Image Size: 20" x 24"
Outside Framed Dimension: 27.5" x 31.5"

This wonderful old live oak tree with all the moss and vines hanging off it captured my imagination. It was very early in the morning when I took this photograph that I painted from! There seemed to be something mysterious just through the bushes behind the tree. Makes you want to wander through and see. The photograph I painted it from was taken on a privately owned island on the coast of Georgia -- Creighton Island. This is another one from my trip with 10 other artists for a week of painting plein air (outdoor from life). We had loads of fun and painted many paintings!

Taller Than Most
 *PASTEL*               $1,200.00   SOLD

Image Size: 22" x 14"

Outside Framed Dimension: 33" x 25"    (Antique Frame)

This was painted from a photograph taken near Blue Ridge, GA in the Cashes Valley area. It was a wonderful summer day and we barely got paintings done from life that day before they came with their mowers and started cutting the wonderful grasses in the pasture. This is the type of scenery you see around every bend in the North Georgia mountains -- the Blue Ridge Mountains! The air was warm, you could hear the nearby creek and the day made you feel there was only good in the world!

The Day Is Done
*PASTEL*
$800.00

Image Size: 13" x 17"
Outside Framed Dimension: 20.5" x 24.5"  (Antique Frame)

It was such a beautiful sight with the light low in the sky just striking the edges of the hay bales and the side of the barn. You could barely see the old tractor sitting inside the shed giving you an indication of the hard work being done on this farm. This is one of my favorite paintings! I hope you like it too.

Crepe & Corn
 *ACRYLIC*               $3,200.00

Image Size: 40" x 30"
Outside Framed Dimension: 49" x 39"
This beautiful crepe myrtle is located just off the main highway in Blue Ridge, GA. I painted a small pastel "plein air" from here, but took many pictures and from many angles of the wonderful corn field, the crepe myrtle, an old swing in the yard and, of course, the old farm house. When crepe myrtles are in bloom, there is probably nothing prettier! This is a a very large (for me!) acrylic painting. It makes quite a statement when you walk in the room and see it -- all that wonderful color! I did take a little liberty with the photo -- where you see the field and distant trees beyond the corn, there really is the old farm house quite close by. I thought this flowering tree looked like it was standing guard over the corn.

In A Hundred Years
*PASTEL*
            $1,300.00

Image Size: 22" x 18"
Outside Framed Dimension: 29.25" x 24.25" (Antique Frame)

This painting was 75% completed as a demonstration at the meeting of the Southeastern Pastel Society near Atlanta, GA this last January. I did not pull the painting out to finish until about September. The photo was taken near Lilburn, GA. I was intriqued by the very large old cedar standing in the middle of the farm's pasture. The drive had to curve around the tree to finally reach the old farm house and outbuilding. Can't you remember seeing this type of scenery and hoping they don't all get torn down?

Blue Country Road
 *PASTEL*            $2,000.00

Image Size: 28" x 22"
Outside Framed Dimension: 37.5" x31.5 "

This painting was created from a photo near Blue Ridge, GA during the heat of the summer, but I have also painted on location here. This is Parks Lane located off Ada Street. Mrs. Parks lives just to the left and has graciously allowed me to come paint here often -- even bringing my students in the "plein air" classes here to invade her!  I usually take a few liberties with the photograph and I did with this one. There was quite a large couple of trees on the right side of the road obscuring the view,
so . . . I left them out and only included a small dogwood tree that was already turning somewhat burgundy.

Orchard Gold
*PASTEL*
                      $650.00

Image Size: 12" x 16"
Outside Framed Dimension: 22" x 26"

This scene was painted from a photo taken during a plein air painting trip to Thomaston, GA and Calloway Gardens. We drove by this orchard every day and finally decided to stop and ask if we could paint on location there. The owner was very excited about a dozen artists wanting to paint her property. I have a plein air painting of the same scene that helped me do this painting from my photograph. I loved the flowers growing all under those early spring pecan trees! Don't you just love it?

Magnolia & Mountains
*PASTEL*               $600.00

Image Size: 14" x 12"

Outside Framed Dimension: 24.5" x 22.5"

The little new magnolia tree was just beginning to bloom in the shadow of those Blue Ridge Mountains. This little scene is located in a community called Tate City. I have painted quite a few paintings from this area -- it is a wealth of beauty. The Tallulah River is just on the left out of sight, but it is just a little creek at this point. The hollyhocks you can see in the distance are the subject of many of my paintings -- "Hollyhocks on Guard" -- which is one of my very favorite.

The View Thru
*PASTEL*                      $750.00

Image Size: 12" x 16"
Outside Framed Dimension: 26" x 30"

This scene is from near Blue Ridge, GA as we are driving toward our vacation home on the Toccoa River. I see this scene every time we go, and every time, I want to paint it again!!! I have since painted on the owners' property looking out in several different directions. She has several beautiful views from her yard -- which is just to the right in the trees. I think it is a very serene setting.

Are You Scared Yet?
 *PASTEL*                 $675.00   SOLD

Image Size: 12" x 16"
Outside Framed Dimension: 22" x 26"

This painting was actually painted as a demonstration for a senior citizens group near Marietta, GA this year. It was painted from a photo taken during our annual trip to my husband's family reunion near Cummings, GA. We were driving down a little country road when I saw this and yelled "Just look at that! Please stop!" My husband backed up and waited while I took many different photos of the flowers and the scarecrows.  Don't you just love it?

Indian Springs Rocks
*PASTEL*   $900.00

Image Size: 16" x 12"
Outside Framed Dimension: 29" x 25"

My painting is from an area of Georgia below Atlanta called Indian Springs. There is a campground and spring water and beautiful areas for walking. This tree reflected in the small amount of water surrounded by these wonderful flat rocks caught my attention. This painting was accepted into the 2003 Southeastern Pastel Society Member Show and won a Merit Award. I am quite proud of this painting, but this digital reproduction does not do it justice!

Here's Looking At You
*PASTEL*      $1,700.00

Image Size: 16" x 20"
 Outside Framed Dimension: 31.5" x 35.5"

My husband is an antique car enthusiast and has been begging me to paint the old cars. This is the second one I have done. The first one was juried into the Southeastern Pastel Society Member Show in 2003 -- and then it sold this year to someone for their son's room.  If you are interested in cars, this would make a wonderful addition to your collection!

July Hay
*
PASTEL*
$1,200.00

Image Size: 16" x 20"
Outside Framed Dimension: 30" x 26"

It was a very bright day. On July 4th every year we go to Cumming GA to a family reunion. This scene is from a drive around the area looking for some of the old home places and farms that my husband remembers from his childhood -- or from the memories his Mother has talked about. We loved looking at all the fields and roles of hay.

Barns In Morning Light
*OIL*        $1500.00

Image Size: 20" x 16"
Outside Framed Dimension: 26" x 22" (Antique Frame)

This is an oil painting done on canvas with a palette knife. I had started this oil with a brush, needed to mix and match a color, and upon checking the mixture with the knife, decided to continue painting with it! The antique oak frame compliments the painting very well.

Live Oak Mystery
*ACRYLIC*    $1700.00   SOLD

Image Size: 30" x 24"
Outside Framed Dimension: 35" x 29"

This was painted from a photograph taken while on a plein air painting trip with several artist friends on St. Simons Island. We visited a wonderful little fish camp and they graciously allowed us to spread out over the property and paint on location. There was such a mysterious quality to this tree and all the moss hanging in its wonderful "golden glow" as mentioned by a wonderful author of books about this area, Eugenia Price.

Illumination
 *PASTEL*     $400.00

Image Dimensions: 8" x 11"
Outside Frame Dimensions: 15" x 18"

This painting was done as a demonstration in High Country Art Gallery, Blue Ridge, GA on the weekend of the Arts in the Park, Memorial Day weekend. The layers of the different pastures was intriguing and the deep shadows of the trees created a nice contrast. Usually there are horses in the pastures, but not on the day I was out taking photos. I could remember the warmth and smell of the pasture grasses just looking at the photos. Painting from my own photos always brings back those kind of memories.
