Second Floor - Surgical Waiting Room
There are four oil paintings that were commissioned for their second floor lobby / surgical waiting room. Two of the paintings are triptychs -- meaning there are three panels that make up one painting. This means I painted eight panels -- the equivalent of eight paintings. They were created on birch cradled panels. These panels are absolutely beautiful in their pristine state before painting on them.
They chose pastel paintings seen on my web site and asked if I could produce them larger in oil or acrylic. The stipulation was they did not have to be exact duplicates, but just have the same colors, perspective, location, subject matter and all over feelling. You can see there is a theme to this waiting room -- serene and relaxing water scenes! All the scenes are from our local North Georgia or surrounding area.
There were six artists, one for each floor, chosen for the new wing of the hospital and a gala reception was held to thank the donors and the artists. The photos are from the hospital and just before the reception.
